According to emails obtained by DailyMail.com, President Joe Biden may have shared a bank account with his son Hunter Biden, who is the subject of a federal investigation that is reportedly looking into possible money laundering and illegal foreign ties.

Emails from Hunter Biden’s infamous abandoned laptop revealed that the father and son potentially shared at least one bank account and paid each other’s bills, an issue that raises questions about possible corruption.

DailyMail.com reported that a former federal prosecutor, and expert on money laundering and criminal tax law, who spoke to them on the condition of anonymity, indicated that if money was indeed passing between Hunter Biden and his father it could make for a case to include the-now president in the probe that is currently taking place into his son’s financial dealings.

Whatever transaction you're looking at, if there's a connection to a family member or a friend, sure the answer is yes [they would be investigated],” the unnamed former prosecutor reportedly said. “Obviously, if you're talking about the President of the United States, you'd better have a pretty damn good reason to talk to that person.

In December, Hunter Biden admitted publicly that he was being investigated by federal officials over his taxes, but he left out a lot of details. The investigation from the FBI and IRS is also reportedly looking into both Hunter Biden’s foreign business ties and potential money laundering.

A former intelligence officer and special agent at the U.S. Department of Treasury, who is an expert on money laundering investigations, John Cassara, told DailyMail.com the information that is currently available to the public “is very worrisome, particularly in the areas of corruption.”

“Corruption is a predicate offense for money laundering,” Cassara said, according to DailyMail.com. “And besides corruption, it's the perception of corruption. This kind of thing should not be happening. It undermines full faith in the U.S. government.”

The correspondences also showed that Eric Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s partner at Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, an investment firm that was co-founded by Hunter Biden and has been embroiled in allegations of fraud, worked on personal matters for Joe Biden, as well as official White House matters when he was vice president.

The emails uncovered by DailyMail.com showed Schwerin had allegedly discussed helping the then-vice president with his taxes and finances, coordinated events for him, and received special favors for Rosemont Seneca. “Schwerin's involvement in Joe's personal affairs even extended to fielding requests for book deals,” DailyMail.com reported.
