WASHINGTON (TND) — As tensions at the border are at an all-time high, leaked video from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ visit last week shows an intense back and forth between Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz and his agents.

"For evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. That’s exactly what’s happening here. Good men are doing nothing. You’re allowing illegal aliens to be dropped off in communities,” said one agent in the video shared with Fox News.

In the video, Ortiz said agents were getting “bogged down in the policies and the politics.”

Former acting commissioner of Customs and Border Protection Mark Morgan called it “the worst display of leadership” that he’s seen in his career.

“You have agents that are on the front lines, that they are beyond frustrated; their morale is broken. And why? Because they know that our southwest border has been turned into the wild wild West and they're no longer unable to do their job effectively to safeguard this country,” said Morgan to The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat.

Morgan said that in trying to communicate their frustration, they were met with “their own chief that was yelling at them, was talking over them, was refusing to actually listen to them.”

“This was a great example of how they're not being listened to — how they know that they're being lied to by this administration,” said Morgan. “I believe that this chief should be removed, and the secretary should be impeached.”

Mayorkas said last week that while the Biden administration’s policies are unpopular with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, “that’s the reality and let’s see what we can do within that framework.”

“He's talking to them, that's all he's doing. Right? He's not listening to them. He's not having a dialogue,” said Morgan.

According to a new ABC/Ipsos poll, 64% disapprove of President Joe Biden's immigration policies.

“I think the American people now have a better awareness and understanding about the southwest border and about the threats that we face from outside of those borders,” said Morgan. “What happens there doesn't stay there. The drugs coming across the southwest border make their way to every town, city and state.”
